About Me
My name is Lucy, a 19 year old student. I am currently in my first year studying Music Marketing, Media and Communication at BIMM University in Manchester. I am a brass musician, as well as a journalist, with a passion for all things in the music industry. I write gig and album reviews, as well as other music related articles on a regular basis to build my journalism portfolio.
In November 2025, I successfully applied to Trill Mag's Media Makers programme, a sixth-month internship. During this time, I will receive mentoring and guidance on how to develop my journalistic voice, as well as the opportunity to pitch and write entertainment articles which will be published on their website.
I am a contributor for BOOT Magazine and Indie Is Not a Genre. For these roles I regularly conduct artists interviews, as well as single, album and gig reviews. This is helping me gain invaluable experience as a writer and industry insight, whilst also allowing me to grow my portfolio.
I am local to the Manchester area, and love going to live music events in my free time. This can vary from gigs at grassroots venues supporting independent artists, to watching world-renowned performers at large arenas and stadiums.
I also love collecting vinyl records, and my current favourite music artists are Inhaler, Fontaines D.C., Gracie Abrams, Royel Otis, The Royston Club, and Radiohead.
